The moment you arrive, it feels almost storybook-like. The outdoor ceremony space is surrounded by towering trees. The reception hall is covered in gorgeous ivy. There’s a gazebo overlooking the pond, stone staircases wrapped in greenery, and quiet little corners throughout the property that feel intimate and secluded. It’s the kind of venue that naturally slows everything down. And for couples wanting a wedding day that feels emotional and fully present instead of chaotic and performative, that makes such a difference.

One of the things I loved most about this venue was how private and intimate it felt.
Even with guests nearby, the property still creates these quiet little pockets where couples can fully focus on each other. The couple’s private vows under the ivy-covered gazebo overlooking the water felt especially emotional and peaceful. Moments like that are what make a wedding day memorable—not just visually beautiful, but meaningful. The entire venue photographs beautifully because greenery surrounds almost every space. Even simple portraits instantly feel romantic and elevated. And during spring, the floating pollen and soft light made the entire property feel even more whimsical and dreamlike.

The Best Photo Locations at The Springs Waxahachie
This venue is full of incredible portrait locations. Some of my favorites included: the ivy-covered reception hall, the gazebo overlooking the pond, the stone staircases surrounded by trees and quiet greenery-covered pathways throughout the property.  We used the ivy as the backdrop for many of the portraits, and it created such a romantic garden feel throughout the gallery. One thing I especially loved was how pops of color from the florals stood out against all the greenery. It created such a timeless but vibrant look in the final images.

Timeline Tips for Weddings at The Springs Waxahachie
Because there are so many beautiful portrait locations throughout this venue, I highly recommend intentionally building portrait time into your timeline. You’ll want space to move around the property without feeling rushed from one location to the next. I would also absolutely recommend a first look here. The venue layout makes it easy to keep couples separated before the ceremony while still allowing for beautiful private moments earlier in the day.
The flow of the venue worked incredibly well, especially with the girls upstairs and the guys downstairs while getting ready. And because the venue is surrounded by trees, sunset timing isn’t nearly as important here as it is at many outdoor venues. The property photographs beautifully throughout the day.
