As a DFW wedding photographer, one of my absolute favorite perks of this job is getting to experience so many incredible wedding venues across North Texas. Each venue has its own personality, light, flow, and feeling and those things matter so much when it comes to how your wedding day feels and how your photos turn out.
Below are my top 5 favorite wedding venues in the Dallas–Fort Worth area as of 2025. These are listed in no particular order, just five venues I genuinely love photographing and being in. Each one offers something unique, whether you’re planning a large celebration, an intimate wedding, or an elopement-style day.
1. Loco Lake | Sunset, Texas
Loco Lake is a stunning industrial-style wedding venue tucked away in Sunset, Texas, and it is an absolute dream to photograph.
One of my favorite features is the two separate getting-ready suites, each thoughtfully themed for the bride and groom. The ceremony space is especially beautiful with rows of wooden benches that guide your guests’ eyes toward a golden archway overlooking the lake, creating a naturally breathtaking backdrop.
The reception hall continues the industrial aesthetic with warm lighting, clean lines, and thoughtfully designed restrooms that match the overall style of the venue (which sounds small, but trust me, it matters!). This venue is ideal for larger guest counts, and the open layout allows your day to flow seamlessly.
Bonus: I briefly met the venue owner and he was incredibly kind, which is always a great sign for a smooth wedding day.
Perfect for: Large weddings, industrial vibes, couples who want a statement ceremony backdrop
2. Five Oaks Farm | Cleburne, Texas
Five Oaks Farm is the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. This venue offers multiple ceremony options, including an outdoor space beneath a large tree and another overlooking a stunning stone feature that faces the rolling hill landscape.
One of the standout features is the bridal suite located above the reception hall. The barn doors slide open and overlook the celebration below, which makes for incredible photo opportunities and such a fun, unique experience for the couple.
This venue is packed with gorgeous photo spots and works beautifully for medium-sized weddings. If you’re wanting variety in your gallery without leaving the property, Five Oaks Farm delivers.
Perfect for: Medium-sized weddings, rustic-modern aesthetics, scenic outdoor ceremonies
3. The Little White Barn | Sunset, Texas
If you’re dreaming of an elopement or intimate wedding, The Little White Barn is a hidden gem.
True to its name, this venue features a charming white barn with an upstairs getting-ready space overlooking the property. Hanging lights above the outdoor ceremony area create a romantic, cozy atmosphere that photographs beautifully in both daylight and evening light.
What makes this venue extra special is that it also includes overnight accommodations for the couple, offering a relaxed and private wedding experience. It’s small, but mighty, with multiple photo locations, pet-friendly policies, and the option to go fully all-inclusive or bring in your own vendors.
The owner is incredibly kind and has actually become a friend of mine, which speaks volumes about the heart behind this venue.
Perfect for: Elopements, micro-weddings, pet-friendly celebrations, private & intimate days
4. Barnett Estates | Krum, Texas
Barnett Estates is a beautifully run all-inclusive wedding venue nestled in a hill-country-style setting surrounded by trees. This venue is a well-oiled machine in the best way possible.
There are two getting-ready suites positioned near the ceremony space, which takes place outdoors beneath the trees. After the ceremony, guests transition through an outdoor cocktail hour and dance floor before heading into the reception hall.
The reception space features an industrial style with elegant white chandeliers, a stunning contrast that photographs incredibly well. One of my absolute favorite touches is that after the ceremony, the venue owner personally drives the couple (and photographer!) to a secluded edge of the property for sunset portraits with zero distractions, no buildings, no guests, just golden light and trees.
This venue is ideal for large weddings, and the hands-on team ensures the entire day runs smoothly.
Perfect for: Large guest counts, all-inclusive weddings, couples who want seamless coordination
5. Azle Deer Cove | Azle, Texas
If you’re looking for a rustic outdoor wedding venue that still feels unique and full of character, Azle Deer Cove is a fantastic choice.
The indoor reception hall features tasteful taxidermy and antler chandeliers, while the outdoor ceremony space is completely customizable. You can exchange vows in front of the fountain, near the staircase, or tucked among the trees ,each option creates a totally different vibe.
Azle Deer Cove also offers fun outdoor activities for guests, including fire pits, giant Jenga, friendly cats roaming the property, and even a gorgeous peacock family. It feels relaxed, welcoming, and full of personality, perfect for couples who want their day to feel more like a celebration than a production.
Perfect for: Rustic weddings, outdoor lovers, laid-back celebrations close to DFW
